Your Grout Choice is also Important for your Bathroom

People usually forget the grout every time they are looking for the tile they want to have in their kitchen or bathroom. Grout fills spaces between every tile and it seems to be not so significant element for designing. However, choosing a type of grout especially the color can give a great impact to the room’s appearance. The type of tile and the grout will create a big difference in your bathroom or kitchen. You may find several type of grout in any plumbing shop in Australia.

There are three options for this case. In choosing the grout, the best way is to decide if what you want to with your grout. It could be that you prefer to complement, match, or set a contrast your grout to your tiles. For instance, if you are planning to have a white tile, would you choose white, or charcoal gray grout? Each color type will result to different impact to the pattern of your tile and the overall design of your room.

In case you select a coordinating grout, the result will be a seemingly larger space. On the other hand, contrasting colors will make you feel a busier space. Well, this not always a bad thing. Remember that the graphic effect of dark color will increase in case you are making a mosaic that has more grout lines.

There are still many ways to experiment

If you are open to unconventional designs, you might consider an epoxy grout that may glitter or may even glows when it’s dark. You may also consider copper, brass, or stainless steel metal inlays that will accent the pattern in a subtle way.

Decide how much you love cleaning

Your tile and grout choice won’t only affect the space and the appearance but also the times that you need to clean. If you opt to grout in light color, you need to know that it requires more cleaning. Meanwhile, darker grout can make efflorescence that should be cleaned and removed. Either way it is recommended sealing the grout to avoid stains.
